East Cobb Weather - Atlanta Conditions, Forecast, Advisories

This station is located in northwest Georgia outside Atlanta. We are near Marietta and Roswell in Cobb County, often coined "East Cobb". We have a somewhat continental type climate, with cool winters and hot summers, but also with abundant precipitation, averaging over 50 inches per year, and well distributed through the seasons. Most of this moisture comes from the Gulf of Mexico.

Winter morning low temperatures average just below freezing, with highs around 50 F, but wide ranges are possible, with some winter highs near 70, and lows occasionally falling to near zero F in extreme arctic outbreaks. Snow falls at some point in almost every winter, but is not very frequent. Summers in Marietta are hot and humid, with morning lows about 64-70 F and highs about 85-91, with 100 possible. Thunderstorms occur many summer afternoons and can be severe in spring.

We upload to numerous Weather Sites including Weather Underground and are extremely active on Twitter. Our Handle is @EastCobbWeather. We stream the NOAA Weather Radio on our Website and recently became a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador.
