Wet Weekend Turns Into Scare-Free Trick-or-Treating
A cold front will impact the Atlanta Metro area this weekend, and behind it, much cooler air. Monday morning is expected to be the first freeze for portions of north Georgia, and near-freezing for portions of western Georgia. Moving past the weekend…..the big question is the forecast for Tuesday night. And the great news is that the Trick-or-Treat weather will be cold, but dry! Weather-wise, it should be GREAT Halloween weather with a high of 67 and low of 42. CLEAR AND NO RAIN!
From the NWS: The long term period starts with a cold front moving into the area from the northwest late Friday. The front continues to push through the area on Saturday and starts to clear from west to east in the overnight period. Expect heavy rains Saturday and Saturday evening.
With enough instability present, thunderstorms are possible during Saturday.
After the front moves through, drier and much cooler air filters in. We will see some of the coldest weather so far this season for many areas on Saturday night into Sunday morning, with even cooler temperatures for Monday morning. Temperatures rebound fairly quickly on Tuesday with highs back in the upper 50s to lower 60s in the mountains, mid to upper 60s across north Georgia, and low to mid 70s in central Georgia. Halloween weather will be clear, dry, and cold. I’ll take that! Chances for rain doesn’t return until midweek when another frontal system approaches the area.
Weekend and Halloween Weather Forecast:
Saturday will be wet, with some thunderstorms possible…
Followed by some of the coldest temps of the season…
And a possible freeze in North Georgia…
But we can’t ask for better Halloween weather!
